As I was browsing through channels on Sunday , I came across an news channel. The news flash made me stop and read. It read 'Rahat Fateh Ali Khan detained at IG Airport'. I am big fan of rahat fateh ali khan. I love the way he sings and he is perfect brand ambassador of Indo-Pak possibility of friendship.

Rahat Fateh Ali khan is one of most outstanding singers of sub continent. Coming from Pakistan , Rahat has entered hearts of 1 billion Indians through his songs. He is truly giant and legend in making.

When I first saw the news my instant reaction was why in the world , someone like rahat was detained?.Then slowly as news about him being caught with un disclosed $1,00,000 came to light , slowly news began to sank in me.Rahat is accused of violating law which states that one can carry only $5000 with him/her and if more is being carried ,it needs a declaration which rahat is said to have not done.

Now if that is true , detention was justified and it may be detention of celebrity like rahat or income tax raids in premises of priyanka chopra or katrina kaif. Law must take its own course.

Rahat is not first singer who has been in controversy of this kind or been in net of law. Adnan sami went against law and purchased properties which were confiscated by Enforcement Directorate.Now one may say it is not fair but it is law and till that get amend one can't complain.One had to follow the law, isn't it?

Another singer dalher mehndi was accused of more serious charges . He was accused of being part of group which used to bring illegal migrants to Canada.Later IG of police said that daler was innocent..

Coming to controversy of personal kind , another famous singer udit narayan made headlines when an lady claimed to be his wife. Now being wife cannot be controversy but being wife of a man who claims to have another woman as wife is controversial and even against law (Hindu marriage act). Udit somehow manage to compromise formula and controversy finally died down.

The biggest accusation ever made on an musician has been on nadeem of nadeem-sravan fame. Brought to light by gulshan kumar , nadeem is accused of giving 'supari' to get gulshan kumar eliminated. Nadeem is in london since then while sravan tried to start his career fresh but not to much of success.

Lastly I would like to say that talent sees no boundaries , it touches heart directly. Talented man/woman are the people who get love from all sides and respects from all nations. But talent is not replacement of law. Law of nation is something which needs to be followed.One may debate it , one may raise voice against it but law is law and it is there for all. Yes rahat fateh ali khan might be soft target , considering Rajas and Rajus in India and our system is far from perfect but we can't escape the law citing rajus and rajas. I still love rahat's songs and am still fan of his works and would remain so. As far as this case is concerned , let law take its own course and let Rahat have fair trial and hearing.

Also let us not bring India-Pakistan relationship in this matter. Rahat has received same love in India as he had in Pakistan and he remains an iconic singer in India. There are voices who oppose Pakistani singers in India.But if we want India and Pakistan's current kid generation to have harmonious future together , we need to promote common and similar things between us. Singing is one of them. We need more and more Pakistani singer coming and performing in India . In spite of boundaries we share legacy of thousands of years and nothing can erase that. Isn't it?
