Bollywood Stars In Television

I dont remember the show but it was in late 80s when dharmendra had done one two minute apperance on television Serial. The no dialogue two minute apperance of dharmendra as dharmendra  worked for increasing the trp of the show. During those days television was considered to be small medium and big stars of bollywood had strict reservations of acting in the medium.

With Big B making immense loss in his company every thing changed. He appeared as host in kaun banega crorepati and that set the marriage of television and bollywood stars.

Here is list of megastars and superstars who have done television .

1) Amitabh bachchan :

The biggest star of bollywood ever who has completed 40 years in bollywood and who is only actor to have given atleast one hit for successive 15 years in his career open new avenue for bollywood stars by becoming host of kaun banega crorepati. He hosted second version of same show and also hosted fourth version of the same. He also hosted big boss season 3.

2) Shahrukh Khan :

He began his career in television. His "abhi" character is fauji captured imagination of entire nation and soon he made it into bollywood. The big superstar became dream man of every Indian girl with his role of Raj in dil waale dulhaniya le jaayenge. Shahrukh khan followed big b by becoming host of kaun banega crorepati season 3 and then he did paanchi pass and recently hosted zor ka jhatka. While his debut on television was rocking and he remains as number one romantic hero of bollywood , his second innings on television has been mixed.

3) Salman Khan :

The man who always makes the news is only superstar who has had four all time blockbusters to his name. Salman khan made television entry with dus ka dam and hosted big boss season 4. He has been grand success on television too and his ability to connect to people across lines had been wonderful

4)Abhishek Bachchan :

In paa did make into television why should junior b stay away?. He made his television entry with bingo on colors.

5) Akshay Kumar :

The khiladi kumar needed some khiladi format to make his entry on television. He hosted fear factor season one and season two . Next he was seen in master chef as host cum celeb judge

6) Priyanka Chopra :

She followed her one time guru , akshay kumar and hosted fear factor season 3. The adventourous priyanaka entered the right show and did reasonable good job.

7) Arshad Warsi :

Big Boss has become a big brand in India with four successful seasons. Arshad was the host of first season .Later he was judge of dance reality show along with shilpa shetty and vaibhavi merchant

8) Sonali Bendre :

Sonali is exceptional star. She has very few hits to her credit but she is household name in India. She was part of judges in Indian Idol and has been judge of 'India has got talent' season 1 and season 3.

9) Shilpa Shetty :

After wining big brother london , she became host of big boss season 2 . She was also judge of dance reality show along with arshad warsi.

10) Karishma Kapoor :

She tied up with her favorite director Mr david dhavan to be judge of comedy show called 'hash baliye'

11) Madhavan :

He hosted a quiz show based on television and movies in 2010. Madhavan like shahrukh khan started his career from television.

12) Sharnam Joshi :

Sharnam hosted show called bluffmaster and did a wonderful job .

13) Madhuri Dixit Nene :

The queen of bollywood tried to enter bollywood again with 'aaja nachle' . The movie bombed but her popularity remained. Legendary madhuri did make sensational come back as judge in 'Jhalak dikhla ja'.

14) Preity Zinta :

Preity zinta made it into television by becoming host of show which would give opportunity to participants to break  world record. The show is on air on colors

15)Sridevi :

She tried her hands on television with her show which was based on sita-gita lines. The show didnt work wonders though.

16) Ajay Devgan ,Kajol and Tanujha :

The Super star kajol and ajay also had their share of television when they became judge of some family format show along with tanuja.
