Celebs Who Were Jailed

They rule the hearts of millions. They are dream man/woman for millions. Their smile makes day look good, their stories enter our minds , when they cry it makes us sad , when they romance on screen , we wish their partners were us. They are celebrities. The heros or heroines of movie who can't go wrong in reel life and image which they carry in real life too. But some do cross the line , some do find themselves breaching the rule of law . Some do get arrested and have to go to jail.

As today news of lindsay lohan being sentenced to 90 days in jail made headlines in Indian news website , it made me look into Indian celebrities list who went to jail. Some for a day , some for years while some for month. Here is list of famous celebrities who entered the in famous list

1) Fardeen Khan :

Son of stylish feroz khan , fardeen got himself in trouble when he was arrested by narcotics department , way back in 2001. He was caught with cocaine which he bought from nasir shaikh outside juhu atm. Out of bail , fardeen applied to high court to undergo detoxification which is allowed as per section 64(A).

2) Monica Bedi :

Life doesnot often give second chance to any but monica is one of few lucky ones to have started second innings in entertainment industry and people have sympathy for her . Slowly she has been accepted again by people of India.

Her life can make a movie in itself. Her love interest was once right hand man of dawood ibrahim and one of most wanted man in India. Don abu salem fell for her , both got married . Abu salem wanted in many cases and convicted in infamous 1993 bombay serial blast ran away from India along with monica bedi.

They were arrested after years in lisbon , portugal. They were brought back to India . Monica too went to jail . She was acquitted of all criminal charges by court but one of cases is still pending.

She later participated in big brother season 3 and was seen in desi girl season one.

3) Shiney Ahuja :

He has everything going for him. Having featured in critically acclaimed movie like hazaro khawaishe aisi and commercially successful movies like bhul bhulaiya , gangster , shiney was expected to be rising star of bollywood till he was charged for raping his own maid. DNA test proved that he has sex with his maid. Shiney maintains that he didn't force himself on maid and sex was consensual . Shiney was arrested and sent to jail. Right now he is out on bail and is barred from entering mumbai and leaving country.

4) Sanjay Dutt :

Every one loves sanjay dutt but his life has been full of ups and downs. He got into drugs , went to rehabilitation , recovered and bounced back with major hits. When all looked set , sanjay shocked India when he was arrested for possessing illegal weapons. He was sent to jail for 16 months before he was granted bail. He has been convicted in the case and tada court has announced six years of rigorous imprisonment for sanjay. He has applied to supreme court and case is pending.

5) Salman Khan :

The heartthrob of millions , salman khan has also been part of many controversy. Rash driving , alleged harassment of girl friend or killing deer , salman has done some seriously stupid things in his life. The handsome hunk , lately has become more restraint and mature but reaching fifties we wonder whether he took more time to get matured?. Like sanju baba , he too is loved by all but does find himself in trouble as far as law is concerned.

He was arrested for rash driving in 2002. He was again arrested for killing a deer belonging to endangered species in 2007. He is out on bail and had to stay in jail for six days. The case is still pending.
