Mahatma Gandhi and International Day of Non-Violence

Humans are most unique species. The only species which took on might of nature and manipulated things to suit itself. The only species which can analyze and make meaning out of its life. The only species which dreams ,forms goal and is ambitious.

Since humans came into scene , lot of extra ordinary beings have contributed to human race. From kings to spiritual leaders , from scientist to artist , from political leaders to common individual , every one in some way or other have been source of inspiration to human race in big or small way.

Largely science , religion , politics and social service have been influential in shaping and directing human race. Science has been true silent servers along with social service while religion and politics have been main influential entities.

World has seen many many spiritual leaders , religious heads which literally shaped way people conducted their lives. Some leaders were given place of messiahs while some were elevated to position of god itself but they all have things in common and most common being connection to divinity in some or other way.

Among spiritual leaders too there were largely two kinds. One which took weapons to fight what is defined as evil or wrong ,while second kind being one which were totally non violent.

On other hand Politics and Power went along with violence since long. Only way tribes would seemed to expand or win over territory was by war. Only way kings could expand or claim their chair was by means of violence.Almost All the great kings have had their share of wars and blood sheds.

Talking about India war for power is part of folk tales and even epics. Righteous war , illegitimate war, war for peace , war to get rid of evil king fill the folk tales.

Amidst such history of human race and India , a man was born in 1869. Man who changed the means of acquiring power for people. Man who redefined the rules. The man who made impossible thing possible and The man with ordinary beginning and extra ordinary will power inspired millions and would keep inspiring coming generations of human race.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi ,popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi was ordinary man who directed , inspired and moved millions to achieve goal of Indian Freedom . Mahatma Gandhi used the tool called non violence for his goals . Never before world had seen civil obedience movement.Never before world had seen satyagrah.Never before world had seen some one breaking law with prior notice that law would be broken.Innovative and Unique way of protest with faith on goodness of one which are fighting with..

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (mahatma)'s life is triumph of spirit. It is inspiration of what humans can become. It is power of non violence , it is defying basic human nature , it is mass movement which can be based on non violence. The impact of Gandhi is immortal. Impact which surpasses time ,continent,region and religion. The man who inspired movement in southafrica (where he started) , India and was also one of influencing source for Martin Luther King.

On 15 June 2007 united nations honored Mahatma Gandhi to establish 2 October as the International Day of Non-Violence. Perfect tribute to man who made impossible things move using non violence. He invented , created and realized new possibility which seemed impossible before by his innovative ways and not only contributed heavily in India's independence but paved way of new model for human race to follow.

Today as world has become global village and interaction between various people from different faith,region,religion,nationality has become way of life Mahatma's life is perfect example of thriving for change of heart using non violence.

Today as corruption grips India and terrorism is one of most used words , Gandhi and his life keeps flame of humanity going. Wishing here by a world where everything can be sorted out with talks and not weapons.
