One Year On Hubpages-First Year Completion

As I logged in to my email account on monday ,email from hubpages got my first attention. It read "You have hit a pretty impressive milestone—your 1 Year Anniversary on Hubpages! ".

The email made me realize that it has been one complete year on hubpages and this made me write this hub. One year!!!!!!..Wow it has been a journey of its own kind on hub community.

My introduction to hub was by chance. I didn't knew hubpages existed , nor I did knew how it works. I was looking for tips to increase visits to my blog and google search for it lead me to hubpages. That was somewhere in mid 2009. I still didn't join hubpages. After another six months , I landed up in another hub , again through google and this time I did join hubpages. Again my purpose of joining hubpages was to bring more visits to my blog. I didnt even know that hubpages provides affiliates!!!!!!!

I still remember being mailed by hub team for duplicate content!!!!!!!. I was posting contents from my own blog with link of my blog. After being flaged three-four times ,finally I decided to write content specially for hubpages. Soon I came to know about affiliate programs and started grasping how hub operates.

My first interaction with other hubbers was not in forums . It was in question/answer section. Slowly I entered forum and came in touch with lot of great people . I started reading other's hubs and have found some of outstanding ,thought provoking writers on hubs. I would have loved to mention their names but I would restrain myself in doing so.

In one year journey on hubpages , I have come across hubbers from all the places . Be it be USA or Australia, Pakistan or Philippines , India or china , people from various cultures , background , expertise writing on different topics and contributing to web world with their write ups. Interacting with them has had good impact on me and has aided in better understanding on lot of political , social and culture aspects of different region.

Another interesting place to be on hubpages in forums. But here I would like to caution people reading this. Enter political or religious forums , only if you can face the music. Passions runs high on both of these topics and people at times can forget that he/she is talking to fellow human. Belief and Faith (or lack of it) on party/leader/relgion run too strong and at times can cross few lines , here and there!!!!!!


Coming to What is best thing which I have liked about hubpages?

Answer is not adsense but the people out here. This is one of most helpful community on internet world. Any new hubber would get enough assistance and support to get going.

What I would love to see on hubpages?

I would love to see some basic criteria to join hubpages. May be asking prospective hubbers with sample of their works. May be three articles and then on approval of those accepting their request to join. I would also love to see stricter review for hubs. Considering the huge volume of hubs written every day , hubpages can come out with rating system , where fellow hubbers can rate hubs and depending on that , hubs can remain published or with held , asking hubber to resubmit with changes.

My Goals For 2011 :

I would like to take my tally of hubs to 500 . This is what I am planning to work on.
