Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif,Aishwarya Rai & Indian Media

Salman Khan is everywhere these days. Since his movie dabbang is hitting theaters soon, salman is on promotion spree. He is seen in almost every channel giving interviews , judging reality shows as guest judge , dancing ,smiling. He can be said face of bollywood for current month. Salman Khan is super star and one of fewest star whose popularity is not directly proportional with how his movies does. His 'wanted' was big hit but 'London dreams' failed but neither hits nor flops effects his popularity. Salman khan is loved by masses.

Salman khan has been controversy's favorite child. Be it be his public spat with shahrukh khan or his much publicized break up with aishwarya rai or his shooting deer case or accident case, salman khan has time and again found himself stuck up in media for wrong reasons. In spite of what he does , he remains one of most loved , followed and eligible bachelor of bollywood since more than 20 years now.

Whenever media gets chances routine questions are asked.like when would salman khan get married,what is current status of his relationship with katrina kaif , his sensitive zone called aishwarya rai and his current equation with shahrukh khan . Indian media doesnot seem to get over the questions and public too never seems to get bored listening to these answers.

Recently salman khan attended zee tv's latest sa re ga ma pa. In the program a contestant sang wonderful song called 'hum dil de chuke sanam, tere ho gaaye hai hum'. After the song the contestant said something which none expected and it brought silence in the venue . It was like bush announcing his famous 'you are with us or against us' statement.

The contestant in her excitement of conveying her feeling about the movie said that she cried number of times watching the movie and always used to say to her parents that what did aishwarya do?..If she(contestant) would have been aishwarya ,she would have got married to salman khan and not ajay devgan.

What followed was embarrassing situation for salman khan as well as other judges. Salman finally broke the silence and lightened that situation stating that zee tv should be thankful to the contestant since they got the right promo material.

Indian media specially Hindi channel too got their material and some in their zeal edited 'would have married salman khan ,instead of ajay devgan ' as it happened in movie to 'would have married salman khan' . The one statement was enough to make successful program of 30 minutes. They showed , re showed the statement again and again.

Recently another interview of salman khan made headlines when he stated that he was single. Media which has been making and breaking katrina-salman relationship since years finally announced that their relationship have ended and showed salman's 'I am single' line 100 times!!!!!!!

Salman Khan in another interview wondered by media is more interested in his love life than more important issues which are worth discussing?. He has valid point. India is big country and we have more important issues like poverty , demographic dividend , inflation , terrorism , rotting food grains , naxals to name few. These issues are directly related to health of nation and does effect public life. Who does salman khan marry or whether he remains unmarried does not at end of day matter to general quality of life of Indians.

But what salman forgot was the very reasons media is interested in his love life is indirectly related to important issues which people of India deal with. Those issues are something about which people of India are resigned , cynical and frustrated. After working hard for entire day , people don't want to listen to more negatives and seek escapism route and salman khan-katrian kaif story is one of those routes.

Indian media especially hindi news channel often uses dramatics , fear , controversies to sell news and what is better than most eligible bachelor dating new queen of bollywood. Isn't it?
