Salman Khan is one of few actors whose popularity is not linked with success in boxoffice. Whether his movies work or don't work salman khan still remains most followed star of the industry.

1) Maine Pyaar Kiya :

Handsome and stylish hunk falls in love with a simple girl bhagyashree. Movie had simple love story with salman and bhagyashree's dad being childhood friend. Salman's dad becomes rich industrialist while bhagyashree's dad remains hard working middle class man.

The story follows simple line of sallu -bhagyashree becoming friends which later evolves into love. Villain who wants to control salman's dad business and wants to get his own daughter married to salman khan .

Finally all ends in happy note with reunion of two friends (both dads) and salman-bhagyashree getting family approval.

This movie made salman khan an overnight success.

2) Andaaz Apna Apna :

Ironically this movie failed in boxoffice but later on became a cult movie. It is never easy to act like stupid in movie and salman khan's role in andaaz apna apna demanded exactly that from salman khan.

He plays a good for nothing youth who wants to become rich by marrying daughter of an industrialist. Karishma Kapoor plays his love interest in the movie.

3) Hum Aapke Hain Kaun :

Coming from suraj barjatiya this movie turned biggest blockbuster of its time. A family drama , salman khan plays younger brother of monish behl.

The movie revolved around marriage of monish behl and renuka shahne with love developing between salman and madhuri in the movie.

4) Khamoshi : The musicial

Khamoshi was not big time success but the movie was critically acclaimed . Manisha did steal the show with her performance. Nana and seema biswas are among finest performers in the buisness.

Nana and seema are couple who are deaf and mute. Manisha is their only daugther who fells in love with salman khan. During one weak momement they make love and manisha becomes pregnant.

Furious nana kicks her out of his home. Salman and manish later get married. In climax of the movie the family gets reunited.

5) Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam :

Perhaps the movie which salman might want to forget. This movie was big commercial success and during the making of this movie salman khan and aishwarya rai did fall in love with each other in real life.

Salman khan delivers his part to perfection as lover of aishwarya rai .Aish's dad is guru of salman khan in music and due to his guru , salman khan is forced to leave aishwarya rai who later gets married to ajay devgan. Ajay tries to unite the couple but movie ends in Indian fashion where wife chooses husband above her ex lover.

6) Karan Arjun :

This is one of few movies where salman khan is shown as serious and introvert individual. Movie is based on re incarnation and revenge. The movie had shahrukh khan playing as brother of salman khan in previous life.

7) Wanted :

Salman Khan is one man army in the movie who is under cover cop. The movie is latest hit of salman khan with prabhudeva entering direction in bollywood.

8) Tere Naam :

Salman khan plays a rowdy who rags a simple first year girl and ends up loosing his heart to her. Salman khan is later attacked by goons and he looses his mental balance due to that attack and is admitted to asylum. It has tragic ending . Salman khan had strange head style in the movie but guess what?.Many followed his head style and it became a fashion!!!..call it salman effect

9) No Entry/Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya :

These are two different movies but salman has similar role in them. In no entry salman khan plays a business man who believes in having extra maritial affair. His logic is that when a man has extra maritial affair , he cares for his wife even more due to guilt. He convinces anil kapoor to follow his suite and what follows is hilarious ride of confusions , lies.

In maine pyaar kyun kiya salman khan is womanizer who happens to be doctor too. He tells every girl which whom he form relationship that he is married . He lies to katrina kaif too but falls in love with her and wants to get married. He convinces his secretary sushmita sen to become his fake wife so that he can arrange for fake divorce and get married with katrina. His plans go wrong when his mother enters the scene.

10) Mujhse Shaadi Karogi :

Salman khan is man who cannot control his temper.His aggressive nature makes life difficult for him and his girlfriend dumps him because of it. He shifts to goa where he meet priyanka chopra and falls for her. Akshay kumar soon joins salman khan as his room mate and tried to ruin salman khan's prospect of getting love of priyanka chopra. The movie is fun to watch.

11) Dabangg:

Kamaal karte ho pandey ji. Dabangg is one of best movies of salman khan. His attitude , his screen presence makes this movie as one of salman's best work. Salman followed success of dabangg with ready and body guard but personally i liked dabangg more than other two. With hat trick of success , salman has become only film star with 3 highest grossers among top six grossers , other three being movies of aamir khan and ajay devgan respectively. While aamir has two in the list , ajay has one to his credit.
